About the Role
The primary objective of the Development Coordinator is to provide leadership, strategic planning and coordination for a schedule of Chill Entertainment hosted large-scale events, and other mission-driven initiatives and sponsorship related event activities.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
1. Will develop, manage, and oversee a sustainable schedule of annual events, with various Chill Entertainment staff and personnel including marketing, talent, facilities, production, customers and vendors.
• Work with resource staff to maximize all opportunities related to event planning and execution.
• Collaborate with promotional teams to effectively promote event participation and partners through traditional and digital messaging, and grassroots engagement.
2. Develop, cultivate and maintain professional relationships with event sponsors.
• Create and deliver event-related sponsorship proposals and presentations.
• Maintain existing relationships and seek sponsors to increase awareness, participation and revenue opportunities.
• Utilize CRM software to maintain and manage relationships with sponsors, partners and vendors.
• Provide input to CE leadership in the development of key joint ventures, affiliations, and partnership arrangements.
3. Develop, implement, and evaluate budgets for scheduled events.
• Responsible for achieving revenue goals and managing expenses related to individual event budgets.
• Provide analysis and recommendations to CE leadership on overall event budgets.
4. Assemble and lead a variety of cross-functional event teams to plan and execute an event schedule.
• Direct staff and volunteers on needs and responsibilities for event planning and execution.
• Serve as a liaison to CE leadership regarding event plans, needs and evaluations.
5. Keep the Guest Services, Sales & Events/Production Manager informed of significant matters as they relate to all areas of responsibility.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field, and three years of experience in professional event management capacity with demonstrated success in growing events, securing sponsors/gifts and leading teams OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience equal to above.
Knowledge of generally accepted business English usage including the use of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Working knowledge of general office procedures, solid phone skills and the ability to communicate both orally and in writing, a positive image of CE.
Professional, pleasant and enthusiastic personality with demonstrated strong customer service and professional face-to-face and telephone skills.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and working knowledge of business math.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills.
Demonstrated ability to identify and secure sponsorship, marketing and partnership opportunities.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability in the use of computerized applications.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects and events simultaneously.
Ability to make sound judgments in determining priority of work in order to meet deadlines.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other CE personnel, affiliated agencies, and the general public.
As required, must be able to travel to event sites, to conduct on-site work in a timely manner.
